L&rsquo;\u00c9cossais Josh Kerr a sign\u00e9 un chrono historique de 3 min 42 s 66 ce samedi 18 juillet lors du meeting de Londres, comptant pour la Ligue de diamant, effa\u00e7ant ainsi des tablettes le record du monde du mile d\u00e9tenu jusque-l\u00e0 par Hicham El Guerrouj.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2g\u00e9 de 28 ans, l&rsquo;athl\u00e8te britannique avait \u00e9t\u00e9 sacr\u00e9 champion du monde du 1.500 m en 2023 \u00e0 Budapest, avant de d\u00e9crocher l&rsquo;argent olympique \u00e0 Paris en 2024. Il avait ouvertement affich\u00e9 son ambition de s&rsquo;attaquer \u00e0 ce record mythique du demi-fond.<\/p>\n<p>Hicham El Guerrouj, quadruple champion du monde, avait \u00e9tabli cette marque le 7 juillet 1999 lors du Golden Gala de Rome, en bouclant la distance en 3 min 43 s 13.<\/p>\n<p>La l\u00e9gende marocaine conserve toutefois un autre joyau : le record du monde du 1.500 m en plein air, r\u00e9alis\u00e9 le 14 juillet 1998, \u00e9galement \u00e0 Rome, en 3 min 26 s.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Un record vieux de 27 ans est tomb\u00e9.
